Flying Officer, Robert LEGG, Royal Air Force, formerly Lieutenant, King's Own Scottish Borderers, Born 21st November 1900 and died in an aeroplane crash along with Flying Officer Peter Godfrey, Royal Artillery at Atley Hill, Yorkshire 9th March 1936 aged 36. He was the son of J W Legg He is at rest in Catterick Cemetery, Yorkshire.
12th January 1924 he was posted as Flying Officer to No4, Flying Training School, Egypt for a course of instruction.

"Flying Officer Robert LEGG (Lt, K.O.S.B.) relinquishes his temporary commission on return to Army duty. 3rd Jan 1928".

Lt. Robert LEGG (1st Battalion, The King's
Own Scottish Borderers) is granted a temporary
commission as Flying Officer on being
re-seconded for duty with the Royal Air
Force with effect from 30th Sept. 1935, and
with seniority of 30th Sept. 1931. (Substituted
for the notification in the Gazette of 15th Oct. 1935.)
