Private 809, Sherwood Foresters died 11th March 1918 aged 34. Son of Thomas and Emma of Station Street, Ashbourne
(Burnt Record) Attested 2nd May 1905 and was residing at Compton Street, Ashbourne. His occupation was a Farm Labourer. He had served previously with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. His brother Joseph was serving with the Grenadier Guards. He had served 10yrs and 186 day. he was discharged from the army and died a Chelsea Pensioner (Number 243226H) while in an asylum
