Laurence Kingston LINDSAY YOUNG, B.A, Captain 2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers, RAF, formerly Hampshire Regiment, Army Service Corps, son of Rev Henry Lindsay YOUNG, M.A. L.L.B, Vicar of St John's, Portsea and grandson of Rev R.G. YOUNG, Who died on Christmas Day 1918 aged 27 at Lady Ridley Hospital, London, from wounds received in France. Native of Porstmouth. (Wills and Admin, Ancestry.co.uk) have the following) He lived at 13 St Edward's Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, Captain, Royal Air Force died 25th December 1918 at 10 Carlton House Terrace, Middlesex. His effects went to his father.

to be Second Lieutenant. Dated 14th October, 1914, with seniority as from 22nd January, 1913, but not to carry pay .or allowances prior to the 14th August, 1914, and to count for retired pay from 5th July,

Capt. LAURENCE KINGSTON LINDSAY YOUNG, 1st Royal Scots Fusiliers, attached R.A.F., eldest son of the Rev. Dr. and Mrs. H. Lindsay Young, of the Vicarage of St. John's, Portsea, graduated B.A. at Trinity College, Dublin, as Junior Moderator in History an d Political Science in 1913, and obtained there from a university commission in the Army. He served in India since 1915 on the Western front, and
was wounded by shell at the Battle of Hooge. Subsequently he received wounds from which he died on Christmas Day.
He is commemorated on a memorial in St Ann's churchyard, Brown Edge, Staffordshire. It appears to any onlooker reading the inscription, that he is at rest in this churchyard. There is no other person commemorated on the memorial. He is at rest in Highland Road, Cemetery, Portsmouth, Hampshire, or is he???
