Laura Marion GAILEY. Nurse VAD. Attached to 1st Western General Hospital Fazakerley, Liverpool.

Born 8 November 1886 at 13 Asylum Road Londonderry to William and Margaret Elizabeth Gailey, nee White.

Irish 1901 census. With her parents and siblings at 13 Asylum Road, Londonderry. Irish 1911 visiting the home of the MacCormac family at 73 Great Victoria Street, Belfast City. No occupation given. Her parents were then residing at 25 Asylum Road, Londonderry

She died No 1 Western General Hospital, Fazakerley, Liverpool of measles and pneumonia 24 March 1917 aged 26. Her mother was granted a war gratuity 17 September 1917. Her headstone was erected by Mounjoy Women’s Loyal Orange Lodge No29 Londonderry.

At rest in Kirkdale Cemetery, Liverpool, Lancashire.
