Extended Description
John William NOLAN. Stoker 304160 Royal Navy on HMS Lively. Born 27th May 1882 at Poplar, London, enlisted 28th May 1903, occupation prior to enlistment, labourer. Died 21st December 1905 aged 23 years. He jumped overboard thinking that a collision with a steamboat was about to occur. Death was caused by drowning. His body was recovered 30th December 1905. His mother of 51 Oban Street Poplar, 29 Cranby Street, Canning Town, East, London was informed of his death on the 22nd December 1905. At rest in Plot B, Grave 120, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta. (Unmarked burial)
