Rifleman 18302 John McILVEEN, 13th Royal Irish Rifles,
Born 07 January 1894 to Joseph and Ellen Jane, nee Crowe. Irish 1901 census he was living with his parents at 20, Hill Head, Comber.
1903 his father (widower) remarried in Dundonald parish church to spinster, Jane Lowry. 1911 living with his siblings, father and step mother at 14, Railway Street, Comber, and working in a mill in Comber, possible Andrews Mill. Killed in action 1st July 1916.A war gratuity was granted 11 December 1916 to his father. His Step mother, Jane, nee Lowry was granted a war gratuity 29 December 1919, revised 18 March 1920. He is at rest in Cerisy-Gailly Military Cemetery, France. His brother William also fell.
