1911 with his parents and siblings at 45 Ballycultra. Occupation, student engineer.
London Gazette dated 10 July 1915. Corps of Royal Engineers. The undermentioned to be 2nd Lt on probation 11 July 1914. Cadet Corporal J J Heron from Belfast University Contingent Officer Training Corps.
Promoted to Lieutenant 9 June 1915, Captain (M.C) 3 November 1917.
10 September 1915 in France.
Promoted to Captain 3 November 1917.
Birthday Honours List 1917 Awarded the Military Cross 4 June 1917. It appears that anyone awarded a MC in the Birthday Honours their citation is not gazetted.
His medal card shown an address of Maryfield, Holywood, County Down. No mention of Military Cross.
Died 18 September 1967 aged 79.
At rest in Holywood Cemetery, Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland.
