HOUGHTON John . (Military Medal) 2nd Lieutenant, 18th Manchester Regiment, formerly 21st battalion. He was killed in action in France on the 14th December 1917 aged 24. He was the son of John and Elizabeth of "Menin" Station Road, Fearnhead, Warrington, Lancashire, and brother of Corporal John who also fell in the war. He is commemorated on his parents memorial in Christ Church churchyard, Croft, Lancashire and also on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium
