John Frazer JEFFERSON, Captain 140703 Merchant Navy, Master of oil tanker S.S. Cadillac, (Newcastle-on-Tyne)
Born 1897 to Jonathan and Agnes Jefferson, husband of Margaret A. V. Jefferson, of Holywood, Co. Down, Northern Ireland.
1901 - 1911 residing with his parents and siblings at 108 High Street, Holywood, County Down.
On the 1st March 1941 when on route from Aruba for Avonmouth carrying a cargo of 17,000 tons of aviation spirit she was torpedoed by U-552 and sunk. thirtyfive crew lost from a total of fourtyfour, he was aged 44

Commemorated on a kerb stone around a family plot in Holywood Cemetery, Holywood, County Down. Commemorated on Tower Hill Memorial, London.
