John EVANS. Lieutenant, Royal Navy, commanding HM Steam sloop Polyphemus. He was struck by apoplexy at his residence in Strada San Giovanni, and was taken to the Bighi Naval Hospital on Monday the 20th February 1854 but died the next day, 21st. Native of Wimborne Minster, Dorset. At rest in Msida Bastion Cemetery, Floriana, Malta.
