John Dickson Smyth. Rifleman 18786. B Coy 13th Royal Irish Rifles.
Parents were married 24 June 1886 at Granshaw, parish of Comber
Born 28 April 1896 to David and Elizabeth Smyth, nee Dickson at High Street, Comber, County Down, Birth registered at John Dickson.
1901 census with his parents
1911 (smith) with his 5 Castle Lane, Comber Ireland, later of 49, Beersbridge Road, Belfast.
Killed in action in Belgium 6 August 1917 aged 21. His mother Elizabeth was granted a war gratuity 7 June 1918, revised 25 March 1920. He is at rest in Potijze Chateau grounds Cemetery, Belgium

His brother David was killed in action 1 July 1916
