His Brother was Pilot Officer 188647 William Donald CREBBIN (known as Peter) 115 Squadron Royal Air Force killed in action on a training flight whilst flying a Lancaster 26th November 1944 aged 20. Son of Frank Crebbin, and of Catherine Elizabeth Crebbin, of Port St. Mary, Isle of Man. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey.
This memorial plaque is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
John Crebbin was not Alan's brother although he came from the same village. His details are Flight Lieutenant John Percival Crebbin DFC, 48603, 83 Sqn RAF. Killed on 23.11.1943.
Pilot Officer W.D. Crebbin, known as Peter, was Alan's brother. He was killed whilst flying a Lancaster of 115 Squadron on a training flight on 26th November 1944. Peter and Alan's father was Frank Crebbin.
It's a mystery why Peter and Alan aren't commemorated together here, and why John's date of death is incorrect.
