Flight Lieutenant John COUTTS No. 3045935 Royal Air Force stationed at RAF Fairford.
Died 24 March 1969 aged 40 as the result of a Hercules C.1, XV180 30 Squadron, Royal Air Force Fairford Wing at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire crashing at Fairford, he was the pilot of the aircraft the cause of the accident as follows.Credit the following to http://www.ukserials.com. During climb out from Fairford, Gloucestershire the captain asked the co-pilot to feather No4 engine. However the engine went into full reverse thrust which rendered the aircraft uncontrollable. It entered a starboard wing over, crashed and caught fire. All six on board were killed.

Inscription on foot of headstone reads - In proud and loving memory of a devoted husband, father and son. So sadly missed.

Wills on Line UK. He resided at 28 Trenchard Gardens, South Cerney.

At rest in All Hallows Churchyard, South Cerney Gloucestershire.
