Annually, Joan and Ken commemorates her father's death by placing flowers in Malta Grand Harbour. Her father was Petty Officer James Conlon Royal Navy on HMS Renown. He served 14 years in the navy in the Mediterranean and Far East before and after the second world war. His wish was when he died (crossing the bar) that his ashes be spread in the Grand Harbour, Malta. Born 14.2.1918 died 15th.2.1999
