Jephunneth Edwin BOYT. Corporal, Royal Tank Regiment killed in action at Mareth, Tunisia on the 22nd March 1943 aged 23. Son of Edwin Andrews and Flora Boyt of Thornbury. Wills and Admin, Ancestry. He lived at Heath View, Crossways, Thornbury and died 22nd March 1943. His effects went to his father Edwin who was a tailor. Commemorated on his parents memorial in Thornbury Cemetery, Kington Lane, Thornbury, Gloucestershire. At rest Sfax War Cemetery, Tunisia.
His father served in the Great War as Private 4823 and 266658, Gloucestershire Regiment., his uncle Gerald Boyt also served with the 1/5th Gloucestershire Regiment as Private 240148. Enlisted aged 17, and lived at Tytherington, near Thornbury.
