Lance Corporal 18614 James PATTERSON, B Company, 13th Royal Irish Rifles, 108th Brigade, 36th (Ulster) Division.
Born 13 October 1894 to Samuel Kerr and Mary Jane Patterson, nee Magee of Ballyrush County Down. Irish 1901 census with his parents and siblings at 09, Ballyrush County Down. 1911 family moved to number 08 Ballyrush
Killed in action 1st July 1916 on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, France. A war gratuity was granted 08 March 1917 to his father, revised 27 September 1919.
He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
