He may be the following
Born 1887 at Kilmarnock to James and Elizabeth Swann Mitchell of 24, Braeside Street, Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland. 1891 residing with his parents and siblings at 26 Richardland Road, Kilmarnock. 1901 residing with his parents at 91 Campbell Street, Riccarton, Ayrshire. Occupation aged 14 Sheriff Officer assistant.
Killed in action 9 April 1917. His father was granted a war gratuity 10 September 1917, revised 24 October 1919
At rest in Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France.
