James McWHINNEY. Private 2699, 6th Black Watch (Perthshire) Battalion, Territorial. Born 1895 to James and Margaret McWhinney of 4 Stewarts Place Holywood.
1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 8 Trevor Street, Holywood, County Down. 1911 the family had moved to Stewarts Place, Holywood, County Down, occupation, carpenter.
Died at Hawick Cottage Hospital, Scotland of pneumonia 2 February 1915 aged 20. His father was granted a war gratuity 10 March 1916.
At rest in Holywood Cemetery, Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland.
