Born 8 April 1894 at Knocknagoney, Holywood to John and Annie Mills, nee Greer Birth registered at James Greer Mills. (Family headstone has Frederick)
1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 23 Spencer Street, Holywood, County Down.
1911 with his parents at 54 Ballycultra (Cultra) near Holywood, occupation, railway porter.
1913 his parents were residing at Culloden Cottage, Marino, Holywood

Enlisted into the marines 27 October 1913, aged 19 years 6 months 19 days. Resided at Cultra, occupation railway signalman. Posted R.M. Depot at Deal, Kent 27 October 1913 to 19 August 1914.
Posted to Plymouth Depot 21 August 1914 to 11 September 1914.
Posted to HMS Victory (R.M.Brigade) 12 September 1914 to his death 15 September 1915.
19 September to 12 October 1914 served at Dunkirk on the Defence of Antwerp
15 July 1915 awarded certificate by G.O.C Royal Navy Division for courageous and gallant conduct in the field.
Fell in action in the great war 15 September 1915 aged 22 at Gallipoli.
Commemorated on his parents’ headstone in Holywood Cemetery, Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland. Interred in 2 Pink Farm, Cape Helles Gallipoli.
