Isabel BARKER, (Nee Dewbury) Wife of Captain Arthur John Barker, Army Education Corps, died 27th July 1928 at Malta. In 1879 at Great Amwell, Hertfordshire to Joseph Joseph and Susan Ann nee Green who in 1881 were living at Amwell End, Ware, Hertfordshire. 1901 now living at Princess Street aged 23 still living with her parents and a self employed musician. Between October and December 1905 she married Arthur John Barker, schoolmaster. In 1911 she was living at "Windermere" 3 Bellevue Road Ware with her husband and children. Mary Isabel aged 4 and Joan Evande aged 1 both born at Ware. Her husband born in Ware in 1880 to Charles Daniel and Emily Barker nee Wray. On the 11th August 1927 Isabel aged 46, children, Mary I aged 21 and Joan E aged 16 arrived at London Port from Malta. The address they were going to was 24 Westeria Road, Lewisham, London. On the 18th November 1927 there was a Mrs Barker who left London, for Mars??, no Joan could be found. I belive Mary Isabel remained in England. On the 16th July 1929 at Southampton Captain Arthur John Barker aged 48 and his daughter Joan Evande aged 18 years arrived from Malta. The address they were going to was Glyn Hill, 3 Whitehall Place, London. The 11th October 1929 Captain Arthur John Barker and his daughter Joan age 18 Embarked London bound for Malta. The former address in England was 24 Westeria Road, London SE13.Wills and Admin. Ancestry. Isabel Barker of Fortress Headquarters Malta wife of Arthur John Barker died 27th July 1928. Her effects went to her husband Captain Arthur John Barker. He died on the 22nd January 1951 at the City Hospital, Nottingham. She is at rest in Plot 1. Row 4. Grave 1 in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
