INDIAN MEMORIAL TABLET

This tablet which is fixed to the boundary wall of the Cemetery is dedicated to 13 Indian Soldiers and 7 men of the Indian Labour Corps, whose bodies were cremated at the Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel IslanD.

Royal Garrison Artillery, Indian Army.
Driver 13417, Moti LAL, 68th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, died 8th January 1918. Son of Durgai, of Ajabpura-ke-Marian, Thana Barapura, Odhi, Farrukabad, United Provinces. Cremated the next day at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Driver Jai RAM, died 24th March 1920. Cremated on the 25th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

2/4th Gurkha Rifles.
Rifleman 4899, Lal Sing THAPA, died 23rd December 1915. Son of Tulsiram Thapa, of Kangkrum, Palpa, Nepal. Cremated on the same day at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

1/6th Gurkha Rifles.
Rifleman, Abin PECU died 14th July 1915 Cremated on the 15th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island

Rifleman 1214 Kharak Sing THAPA died 18th August 1915. Cremated on the 19th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

16th Divisonal Ammunition Colum.

Naik (Cpl) 19403, Puran SINGH,Royal Horse and Field Artillery, died 14th January 1919 Cremated on the 16th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island

1/5th Gurkha Rifles (F.F.) Frontier Force.
Rifleman , Bhim Bahadur THAPA. Died 20th August 1915. Cremated on the same day at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

2/10th Gurkha Rifles.

Bugler Ranbahdur LIMBU, died 23rd July 1915. Cremated the same day at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

22nd Sam Browne's Cavalry Frontier Force.
Sowar 1015, Harnarain SINGH, attached to the 2nd Lancers, Gardner's Horse died 26th September 1918. Cremated on the same day at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

2/5th Gurkha Rifles, Frontier Force. Rifleman, Dhanraj GURUNG
(CWGC have the following) Rifleman 659 Dadrat GURUNG, 1/6th Gurkha Rifles died 2nd August 1915. Son of Marcha Gurung, of Langekot, Lamjung, Nepal. Cremated on the 3rd at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Rangha SANTHAL . (memorial has Rengha Santal) Labourer 1945, 29th Lushai Labour Coy died 26th June 1917. Cremated on the 27 at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Shankar SANTAL . (Memorial has Chunka) Labourer 1376, 29th Lushai Labour Corps died 26th June 1917, cremated on the 27th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Bhirku Saren SANTHAL (Memorial has Birhu, Sorten SANTAL)Labourer 1197 , 29thth Lushai Labour Coy, died 5th July 1917. Cremated on the 6th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Ram MONORATH. Labourer 340, 31st Bihar Labour Coy, died 13th July 1917. Of Katila, Kaisarganj, Bahraich, Nepalganj, Bengal. Cremated on the 14th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Jaita KESHAO (Memorial has Jetha KESHAW). Labourer 2343, 24th United Privince Labour Coy, died 13th December 1917, cremated on the same day at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Ram RAKH (memorial has Ram RUCH).Labourer 964, 44th United Privinces Labour Coy died 28th December 1917, cremated on the 29th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Bhik HAI (memorial has Bhikari). Labourer 25th United Provinces Labour Coy died on the 31st December 1916, cremated on the 1st January 1917 at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Subadar 3516, Dal Bir RANA. Died 21st July 1915, cremated same day
at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island.

Havildar 470, Jitbahadur THAPA. Died 4th August 1915, cremated on the 5th at Lazaretto Cemetery on Manoel Island. Son of Ranbir Thapa, of Arkholathok, No. 3 West Katthor, Rising, Nepal.
