SOCAT (Sistem Optic de Cautare si lupta AntiTanc (Antitank Optronic Search and Combat System))is the result of an upgrading program for the IAR 330 PUMA helicopter driven by the Romanian Ministry of National Defence.
Operational requirements were for a modern multi-mission combat support helicopter with a new integrated mission management system, a new "glass cockpit" and avionics, advanced sensors and weapon system.

The upgrade provides capability to fire different types of point target standoff fire and forget antitank missiles and air-to-air missiles as well as 57 mm and 70 mm rockets. The upgrade also includes Giat Industries THL20 20 mm turreted gun installed under the chin.

Great shot again! Do you know Matzos if this is only clearly attack modification made of Puma?

It's the only version I have seen with a chain gun fitted, I think there are versions with basic rocket pods fitted.
