Killed by a single high velocity bullet in an IRA ambush in the Beechmount area of Belfast. He was part of an 18 man foot patrol when they were fired upon by 2 bursts of high velocity bullets 28 August 1972.
At rest at Shrewsbury Cemetery, Shropshire.
