Hyman STEINER. Purple Heart. Staff Sergeant (S/Sgt) 13077504, American Army Air Force 513 Bomb Squadron, 376 Bombardment Group, Heavy stationed at RAF Luqa, Malta. Born 6 October 1920 in New York to David Steiner of 5703, North 17th Street, Philadelphia ‎Pennsylvania. His sister was Mrs Lena Steiner Scherome of Rittenhouse Claridge 609, Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia ‎Pennsylvania. Died on active service 17 April 1943.

Laid to rest 18 April 1943 aged 23 In Plot F, Grave 11, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
Repatriated by US personnel about Oct 1945 to Italy and laid to rest Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Lazio, Italy
