Extended Description
King George VI, the Duke of Gloucester and the C-in-C of the BEF, Viscount Lord Gort, at Seclin on 6 December 1939. The Hurricane Mk I fighters in front feature a hexagonal marking on the fin, an identity insignia adopted by the squadron in World War I, the base resting on a point signifying aircraft of B flight. The visit was intended as a show of force, which also included No 87 Squadron RAF.
