Humphrey Bogart

Humphrey Bogart (1899-1957)
joined the U.S. Navy during WW I in the spring of 1918. He is recorded as a model sailor who spent most of his months in the Navy after the Armistice was signed, ferrying troops back from Europe. He is ranked by the American Film Institute as the greatest male star in the history of American cinema.
Nominated for three Oscars, winning one for The African Queen.
