Next time I visit this cemetery, I will expose the inscription for the purpose of photographing.
Hugh Chapneys THURSTON. C.B., C.M.G. Colonel Royal Army Medical Corps died 17th August 1919 aged 57. Son of Obed Edward and Louisa Margaret of Thornbury. His father was a solicitor. In 1911 he was stationed at Bermuda with the RAMC aged 49. He served on the Indian Front and the South African War.
He is dedicated on the lower part of the head stone, below ground. At rest in Thornbury Cemetery, Kington Lane, Thornbury, Gloucestershire. (not far from the parish church)
