3.3.14 Hugh Alexander POLLOCK DSO. Lieutenant Colonel, Royal Scots Fusiliers. Born 29th July 1888 in Ayre Scotland to William Smillie and Jessie Smith Pollock, nee McBride. In 1891 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 3 William Street, Glasgow. Died in Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta 6th November 1971. He was married to the following, Marion Atkinson, married 1913 divorced 1924. Enid Mary Blyton (Author) married 1924 divorced 1943 and Ida Julia Crowe married 26 October 1943 in London and she passed away 3 December 2013 aged 105 years.

POLLOCK HUGH ALEXANDER -
Royal Scots Fusiliers in the First World War and in the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps in the Second World War. Married three times, he was the first husband of Enid Blyton, and then Ida Pollock, both writers.
In the First World War, he served with his regiment in Gallipoli, Palestine and France. He was a captain, serving as an adjutant, in September 1915. From December 1915 to May 1916, he had served as commander of the 6th Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers on the Western Front. He had been promoted to major, attached to the 12th Battalion, when he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1919. After the war, he served as a temporary captain in the Indian Army.
