Hubert William TARLTON

Hubert William TARLTON. Private 5539, 2/7th Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). Son William Taylor and Mary Tarlton, of 84, Station Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He joined the army 2 February 1916 at Derby aged 22 years and 7 months. and residing with his parents at 84 Station Road, occupation, lace hand. At some date he was posted to Dublin along with his regiment. Whilst in Ireland he was admitted into a hospital in Galway 5 November 1916 suffering from ulcerative endocarditis. (briefly, infection of the inner surface of the heart). He was transferred to King George Hospital, Dublin, Ireland 6 December and died 19 December 1916. His father was granted a war gratuity 8 May 1917, revised 9 December 1919.
