Son of Benjamin Freakes and of Blanche Eliza Freakes (nee Dainton), of Durban, Natal, South Africa. M.A. Rhodes Scholar.

Born 2 February 1914, Durban, Natal, South Africa.
Service Record: Flying Officer, Pilot Royal Air Force
Died 10 March 1942 aged 28yrs. He died when his Hudson V8995 crashed on approach to Honeybourne airfield. Buried at Waterside Cemetery, Evesham, Worcestershire, England
