Hubert Charles AYRES. Corporal 20482, 10th South Wales Borderers died of wounds on the 9th June 1918. He was the son of John and Lucy of 1901, Church Street, Avening. In 1911 he was living with his father, widower and his siblings at Bell Corner, Avening. , Born at Evening, enlisted at Cwm, Monmouthshire. He died with the rank of sergeant at Cardiff War Hospital, and lived at Bell Corner, Avening He was laid to rest in Holy Cross Churchyard, Avening, Gloucestershire.
