Hms Hood, Valiant & Ark Royal

HMS Hood and Valiant under attack, along with HMS Ark Royal, from whose flight deck the photo was taken, by Italian SM79 bombers, in the Western Mediterranean on 9 July 1940. None of the three ships were hit by any bombs, but some very minor splinter damage was done to Hood from a couple of near-misses.
