The advanced ship sailed from Devonport in August last year and spent eight months steaming 32,000 nautical miles conducting oceanographic and hydrographic surveying with her high-tech equipment in a variety of environments and sea conditions a truly challenging test of her abilities passed with flying colours.
HMS Enterprise represents a major improvement to the Royal Navy's surveying and general environmental data gathering ability. HMS Enterprise will be able to collect information on all aspects of the environment (from the seabed to the upper atmosphere), process and send the information to Warfare Commanders in real time. This information will allow them to use their weapon systems to the best advantage and will therefore enhance war-fighting ability.
Ships Motto is Spes aspera levat: Hope lightens difficulties.
