Called up in 1939, Seaman Francis Pearson Ayre, 4th from left at the rear, cap on back of the head, in the class photograph at HMS Collingwood. He went on to serve on HMS Renown as an oerlikon gunner.

HMS Collingwood, that's the Navys weapon engineering school in Portsmouth. I completed my part 2 and 3 training there in 1992/93. Great memories. Good picture bomber !
