As per some reports, it is rumored that Hitler said something along the lines "I would rather had a tooth pulled out, than meeting with Franco again".

Franco had already made his mind about the disastrous consequences for Spain in case of a posible intervention after contacts with Canaris, Ciano and Mussolini. It is more or less accepted that Franco made imposible to meet conditions for Hitler in exchange for a Spanish intervention, in order to keep Spain out of the war. That made the whole meeting an absolute waste of time for Hitler.
