Henry SHAW. Gunner 253325, A Battery 50 Brigade Royal Field Artillery
Born 13 January 1889 at Moville Street Newtownards to Robert and Letitia Shaw nee Crawford. Irish 1901 census with his parents and siblings at 2 Queen Street, Newtownards. 1911 family had moved to number 18, his occupation painter
Killed in action in France 29 April 1918 (not 1 May 1918 as inscribed on the headstone) aged 29 years. His father was granted a war gratuity 4 September 1918 revised 3 December 1919
Commemorated on his grandparents James and Jane Crawford headstone at Movilla Cemetery Newtownards County Down, Northern Ireland. At rest in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
