RANSON Henry Joseph. Private, SS/17765, 25th Labour Coy, Royal Army Service Corps. Died 12th March 1917 in Cottonera Hospital, Malta from malaria and chronic nephritis contracted at Salonika. Born Rotherhithe, London, Father of Richard A and husband to Matilda of Cockfield, Suffolk. In 1911 he was living with his wife and children at Windsor Green, Cockfield, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. He was employed as a builders labourer. Matilda Ranson died 14th January 1945 and was still living at Windsor Green.

He was married on the 18th November 1884 to Miss Matilda Scarff at Cockfield Congregational Chapel, Cosford, Suffolk. They had the following children. Richard Alfred Christopher, born 3rd December 1901, Grace Evelyn, born 25th September 1905, Stanley Thomas, born 25th April 1909 and Dora Ann, born 18th September 1900 all at Lavenham, Suffolk
He joined up on the 5th October 1915 aged 46 and 10 months, lived at Windsor Green, and was a builders labourer. He was posted the same day he joined up to the depot of the Royal Army Service Corps. After he had completed his training he embarked from Devonport on S.S. Minnewaska on the 18th October 1915 and disembarked at Alexandria on the 31st October 1915, where he joined 25th Labour Corps the same day. He was in transit. On the 21st November 1915 he embarked with the 25th Labour Corps from Alexandria on S.S. Victorian and disembarked at Salonika on the 25th November 1915. He fell ill while in Salonika on the 16th June 1916 and was admitted to 30th Field Ambulance with debility, discharged fit for duty on the 22nd June 1916. On the 2nd March 1917 fell ill again and was admitted into 29th General Hospital. About the 9th March 1917 he was invalided from Salonika on Hospital Ship, Herefordshire, admitted into Cottonera Military Hospital, Malta on the 11th March 1917 suffering from myocardial degeneration. He died the following day, 12th. Cause of death was recorded as malaria and chronic nephritis.
ANDERSON Frank. Private 59208, 30th Malta Garrison Company, Royal Army Medical Corps. Died 11th March 1917. Born and lived at Biggar, Lanarkshire, son of Mary who was granted a war gratuity on the 20th November 1919.
WILLIAMS Cyril Brice. Private, 315435, 3/8th Royal Sussex Regiment, died 5th March 1917. Son of William James, who was granted a war gratuity on the 3rd October 1917 and Sarah Ann nee Lynch of (in 1911) 67 Forest Drive, West Leystone, Essex.
