Helen DILLON. Staff Nurse, 2/Res D/569 QAIMNS

Born 1887 in Cashel County Tipperary, Ireland to Edward Dillon of Kingstown, Cashel
1911 aged 24 she was residing along with three Jubilee Nurses at 10 Catherine Street, Waterford.
Late of 04 Catherine Street, city of Waterford,

Notes from her service records -
Joined the QAIIMNS 03 August 1916.
09 January 1917 she embarked London port Llandovery Castle bound for Salonika disembarking Salonica 25 January 1917. The same day she was posted to 21st Stationary Hospital for temporary duty.
30 June post for temporary duty at 30th Stationary Hospital. 04 July 1917 posted for duty from 30th Stationary hospital to 43rd General Hospital, Salonika. She fell ill while on duty in the hospital. 07 August 1917 she was transferred to Red Cross Convalescent Hospital, and she was discharged on 24 August 1917 and rejoined the 21st Stationary Hospital for duty. 09 January 1918 she returned to UK, disembarking 17 January 1918 which was her last day with the QAIMNS.
At date not known she returned to home country, Ireland.

Died 01 June 1918 in the Mater Hospital, Dublin of carcinoma of the liver.

Her address prior to admittance into hospital was 14 Upper Baggott Street, Dublin. She was aged 32 years.

A war gratuity was granted to her sister Miss Margaret Dillon, revises 10 February 1920

Extract from Probate of Will dated 12 May 1919 - Granted to D.R. at Waterford.
Estate of Helen Dillon late of 04 Catherine St in the City of Waterford
Date and Place of Death. Died on or about the 1st June 1918 at Dublin
Grantees. Margaret Dillon of Cashel in the Co of Tipperary, spinster, sister of deceased and the sole executrix named in the said Will she having been the first sworn faithfully to administer the same.
