G085 HECTOR WILLIAM REED. Superintendent of Police, HM Dockyard, Malta. Born 8 March 1872 at 231 High Street, Wapping, London to Lewis John Handcock and Ester Reed, Nee Marshall. 1881 residing with his parents and siblings at 1 Twine Courts, Shadwell, London. On the 19 August 1901 he married Louisa Frances Preedy at St Marks Church, South Norwood, London. Occupation, musician (1911 Residing with his wife, Louisa Frances and their children at 14 Walker Street, Limehouse, London. Occupation, Police sergeant, Metropolitan Force. He joined the police 30 December 1895 with warrant number 80895. Resigned from the police 2 January 1921. Last post to L Division, Metropolitan as inspector. At the age of 18 years he served as Private 3004 with the Connaught Rangers. Died in Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta 29th November 1925 aged 53 years of a fracture to left fibula, alcoholism and cardiac failure.

Unnamed burial. At rest in Plot G grave 85 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
