Harry WILLINGHAM. Rifleman, 146, 1st King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Born 1881, baptised 16 October 1881 at St James Church, Bermondsey, London to Alfred and Mary Ann Willingham nee Birch. At the time of his baptism he and his parents were residing at 26 Strathnairn Street, Bermondey. He enlisted into the King’s Royal Rifle Corps 21st April 1897, occupation prior to enlistment, horse keeper. He died at 9.15pm, 14th January 1904 aged 25 years and 5 months at Citta Vechia Hospital, Malta from an abscess of liver. His death certificated gives his age as 28 years. His father was granted a gratuity on the 25th February 1904.
At rest in an unmarked burial in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta Plot 04 Row 03 Grave 2.
According to the public list of burials at respective cemeteries Harry Willingham is also at rest in an unmarked burial in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta Plot 2 Row 25 Grave 8. It is now confirmed that he is at rest in Imtarfa Cemetery.
