They stand guard at the grave of Private 40200 Frederick Arthur WHERRETT, 2nd Worcestershire Regiment, formerly Private 2733 Royal Gloucestershire Imperial Yeomanry died 20 June 1917 aged 22 from wounds received in action in France 1 November 1916 at Hempstead New End Military Hospital. Son of Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Wherrett nee Vick. In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Hope House, Slimbridge, Gloucestershire. His father was granted a war gratuity on the 11 December 1917 revised 4 November 1919. He was laid to rest in St John the Evangelist Churchyard, Slimbridge on the 23 June 1917.
Wills and Admin, Ancestry. He resided at Street Farm, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, 2nd Worcestershire Regiment at Hempstead New End Military Hospital 20 June 1917. His effects went to Percy John Wherrett, farmer.
