- Gertrude Mary CHAPLIN, nee Ellcock. Born 1878 at Ridge Cambridgeshire to John and Hannah Ellcock nee Gibbs the wife of Smith Quartermaster Sergeant Walter Chaplin, Royal Garrison Artillery. Married 1902 in the registration of Aston Warwickshire. 1911 she was residing with her husband and son Walter John William Chaplin aged 8 years at 73 Gildersome Street, Woolwich, London.
On the 6 April 1912 Quartermaster Sergeant A.E. W. Chaplin aged 34, his wife aged 34 years and their children, male aged 9 years and female aged 3 months. The children would have been Walter John William Chaplin born 7 November 1902 at Wick, Warwickshire and Hilda Decima Chaplin born 16 December 1912 at Woolwich, London. All embarked from London on Ship Nore bound for Malta.
She passed away in Malta 30th July 1912, aged 33 years and 10 months, cause not known
Her son Walter went on to marry Elizabeth Jane Heads 1932 at Gateshead, Country Durham. He died 1979 at Bromley, Greater London.
Her daughter Hilda went on to marry Ronald Frederick Albert Hyde in 1938 at Staines, Middlesex. She died in 2004
