When I first looked at this pic I thought "What the hell is that all about" but after looking around the web the suggestion is that it has something to do with mine clearing, not sure how.
...these engineers construct some sort of vehicle towed mine clearing apparatus with the timbers and pallets,I did see another pic with several crews and tanks pulling these rigs in a long row,how the tanks get through the mine fields first is beyond me!
