George Hamilton TWEMLOW, Colonel 80th Regiment of Foot, died whilst in command of the 80th on the 8th November 1877 at King William's Town, Cape of Good Hope,
South Africa where he is at rest in Eastern Cape, Ooskaap. In 1871 he was a Major with 16th Regiment of Foot, Infantry
He was born 2nd august 1826 and resided with his wife, Georgiana Hamilton TWEMLOW (his cousin) of Camden House, Dover Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight, Southampton
He was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Hamilton TWEMLOW
