The following information may be the above-named person.

Born 18 July 1877 in Liverpool, baptised 12 August 1877 to William and Lydia Stewart, nee Dodd. His parents were residing at 84 Ash Grove, Edge Hill, Liverpool. 1881 residing with his mother and sibling at the home of his widowed grandmother, Jane Dodd at 80 Moses Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool. 1891 Residing at the home of widowed grandmother Jane Dodd at 56 Solway Street, Toxteth Park.
1907 he married Caterina Marie Dye in the registration district of Birkenhead
1911 He was at sea and his wife and two children were residing at 26 Fazakerley Road, Fazakerley West Derby, Lancashire.
1939 with his wife and son, Frederick Gordon born 17 July 1914 at 8 Barwell Road, Ashton on Mersey, Greater Manchester

Mercantile Marine Medal issued 4 September 1921 to him at 12 Cavendish Road, Liverpool.

Information from his Naval Record -
George Frederick Stewart. Temporary Lieutenant. Promoted 30 March 1918 on HMS Egmont, Malta. Demobilised 6 September 1919 for staff of P.N.T.! East Mediterranean as 3rd Grade Officer. His wife was next of kin and she resided at 12 Cavendish Road, Blundellsands, Liverpool.

WW2 Death -
George Frederick STEWART. 3rd Officer 150366, Merchant Navy on Cargo Ship, SS Barn Hill (London).
Died 20 March 1940 aged 62 years. Husband of Caterina Marie of 8 Barwell Road, Ashton on Mersey, Greater Manchester. He is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, Trinity Square, London

The ship had embarked from Halifax Nova Scotia to London and was set on fire 20 March 1940 when a German Dornier dropped a bomb down the funnel. The ship, still burning was beached near Langney Point, Eastbourne. 35 crew saved, five died.

George Frederick Stewart of 8 Barnwell Road, Sale, Cheshire (Same address). Died on date stated. His effects went to his widow.

His son Frederick Gordon STEWART passed his Aviation Course on a Hillson Praga “B” 41 h.p. at Northern Aviation School and Club Ltd, Barton 14 November 1938. His residence was at Glenesslin, 8 Barwell Road, Ashton on Mersey, Greater Manchester and he was killed on air operation over Keil, Germany 11 May 1941 He was Sergeant Pilot 969410, 10 Squadron RAFVR. Husband of Eileen May Stewart, of Newquay, Cornwall.
