BENNETT George Edwin. Private 17656, 8th Gloucestershire Regiment. Born 1878 to Henry and Ann Bennett, nee Southam of (1881) High Street, Chipping Campden. 1891 Residing with his parents and siblings at Watery Lane, Chipping Campden. 1901 he was boarding at the home of the Roberts family at Badsey, Worcestershire, occupation aged 24, labourer at a market garden. Killed in action 23/7/1916. His father was granted a war gratuity 29 November 1917, revised 15 December 1919. At rest in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, France.
