George Edward MALCOLM

George Edward MALCOLM. Able Seaman P/JX626302, Royal Navy on H.M.S. Vestal died 7th December 1944 aged 19 in an accidental drowning at West Hartlepool. County Durham. Son of Edward and Martha Malcolm, nee Taylor, of Coppenhall, Crewe. His brother Arthur also died on service. At rest in Crewe Cemetery, Cheshire.

His brother, Ordinary Seaman ARTHUR MALCOLM D/JX 191788, was killed in action on Sunday 1 June 1941 aged 21 when M.L. 1011 was bombed and sunk during the Battle of Crete on passage from Suda Bay to Sphakia He is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Devon.
