George Alexander MERCER. Duncan McLean KERR

MERCER George Alexander. Private 1386 9th Australian Infantry. Died 21st July 1915 of enteric fever in a hospital in Malta.
Some notes from his army records.
He joined up Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia on the 7 February 1914 aged 28. He lived with his wife Alice Mary Mercer who was his next of kin at Gladstone, Queensland. She died shortly after he joined up. His mother, Ellen Mercer was then his next of kin and she resided at Victoria Hill, Monkland, Gymphie, Queensland.

KERR Duncan McLean. Lance Corporal 1221 F Company 7th Cameronians Scottish Rifles. Died of wounds 3rd July 1915 aged 20. Son of John and Agnes Kerr, of 44, Princes St., Pollokshields, Glasgow, born at Dalry, Ayrshire.
