G059 ALEXANDER CLIFFORD ANDERSON. 3rd Engineer, Mercantile Marine on S.S. Elysia. Born 1886 in Govan, Scotland to William and Mary Jane Anderson nee Clifford. 1901 residing with his married mother and siblings at 84 Paisley Road, Govan. His father’s occupation, marine engineer. Lost his life through enemy action 24th May 1918 aged 32 years.
His monument was erected by his shipmates as a last token of respect.
