FV214 Conqueror
Conqueror was a Cold War giant and at 65 tons was the heaviest tank to see British service. It was designed to counter the perceived threat of Soviet heavy armour, such as the IS-3. The main armament was a 120 mm L1 with 35 rounds. The charge was separate to the projectile, but unfortunately was brass cased, thus requiring more space than the later bagged charges. The power plant was a Rolls Royce M120 fuel injected engine giving a top speed of around 21 mph. A crew of 4 was carried. http://www.geocities.ws/gpmatthews/fv214.html
